Ever seen an apprael brand backing a social purpose? I worked on designs for PYNRS Apparel Inc, a Boston based performance streetwear brand promoting diversity and community inclusion through running culture. ︎ESPN


I  created the official key art for "I RUN WITH MAUD" ; A documentary on ESPN about Ahmaud Arbery who was killed on February 23rd, 2020 during a racially-motivated hate crime while jogging in Satilla Shores a neighborhood near Brunswick in Glynn County, Georgia. This documentary aided the prosecution of Travis McMichael and his father, Gregory McMichael who committed this crime. I created five versions with different themes;

For this design I explored artistes who hide their faces or use mascots to represent themselves regularly or even for a moment. Most of them did this as a creative concept, to add some mystery/ ambiguity to their brand. The four artists I focused on for this were;

︎WHAT’S THE CULTURE?



Partnered with goodfaces to create this editorial design. What’s culture? I asked myself this question because mentally tryig to trace back the essence of the Afro cultue.Then highlighting Juneteenth was the first thought that came to mind. This is a part of black culture I didn’t know much about until I moved to the US. Juneteenth was declared a federal holiday, long overdue but either way, I am glad!

Funny story. In the year 2020, I submitted this design you see on the right for the Aclu’s artist collective gallery on Systemic Equality. A year later, they hired me to create the same style of graphic for a four part black history month series.
